After they move to Arizona, Chloe is pregnant with the baby they were expecting at the end of Hank & Chloe.  As Hank settles into his teaching job, a handsome Indian artist, Walter Whitebear, enters the story, and his affection for Chloe causes stress on the couple's relationship.

Goodbye, Earl (book three):  Beryl is unhappy in Alaska.  When a medical emergency arrives without warning, decisions need to be made. The Bad Girls come to her rescue, and bring her back to the California farm where she belongs.

The Owl & Moon Café: 
Four generations of the Moon family women have owned and operated their small café for decades, serving pastry and coffee to the locals in Pacific Grove.  When Allegra becomes ill, a man she loved as a young woman (with massive consequences) is the one who comes to her aid.

Solomon’s Oak:
Glory Solomon, a young widow, tries to hang onto her husband’s ranch by holding theme weddings under the hundred-year-old oak tree known locally as Solomon’s Oak.  Into her life come an angry homeless girl, Juniper McGuire, and a disabled cop-turned photographer from
New Mexico Joseph Vigil.
